Dr. Jasvinder Singh is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in colorectal surgery. He specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of colon, rectal, anal, and general surgical conditions, with a focus on thoughtful decision-making, minimally invasive techniques when appropriate, and safe, high-quality care.
Dr. Singh treats a wide range of colorectal and anorectal conditions, including hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistula-in-ano, perirectal abscesses, pilonidal disease, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, rectal prolapse, colon polyps, and colon and rectal cancer. He also performs diagnostic and screening colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, and surgical treatment for common general surgery conditions including hernias, gallbladder disease, appendicitis, and selected small bowel disorders.
His approach is practical and patient-centered: not every condition requires surgery, and when surgery is needed, the goal is to choose the safest and most effective option for the patient’s specific problem. Dr. Singh works with patients to explain the diagnosis clearly, review non-surgical and surgical options, and develop a treatment plan that fits the patient’s condition, goals, and overall health.
Dr. Singh earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, one of India’s leading medical institutions. He completed general surgery training in the United States, including internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and residency at New York Medical College / Westchester Medical Center. He then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in surgical oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by fellowship training in colorectal surgery at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, affiliated with the University of Illinois at Chicago.
To further strengthen his work in safety and healthcare delivery, Dr. Singh earned a Master of Public Health in Quality and Patient Safety from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national surgical meetings, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and SAGES.
